A guide to play as Bohemia in Knights of Honor (PC)
Bohemia is located in the center of the map of Europe and as Bohemia, has a total of two provinces under their control at the beginning of the first period. Your starting position is not too good though. You have the kingdoms of Germany, Hungary and Poland around you.
If any of these attacks, you’re finished, because of the size of their kingdoms, compared with his own. Relations with Germany feels good. Relations with Poland and Hungary are good and even calm. So preferably, you want to ally with them, so you have backup if the attacks in Germany. If you can get military access to Hungary, you may also want to consider the possibility of Bosnia and Croatia as potential targets for expansion.
The royal family:
Your ruler is middle-aged, married and the start of the game. He is an expert in diplomacy and espionage, while being moderately expert in economics. He is poor in everything else. It also has a son named Yaromir but, unfortunately, has strengths that its current president lacks. In all honesty, it’s pretty weak so you should expect a better heir to be born at some point.
Special units for the kingdom of Bohemia
1) Light Cavalry.
In the game description: light cavalry mounted units are essential they are armed with a sword. They have good speed and be used for surprise attacks.
Requires a horse stable, and a dealer.
My thoughts: In Bohemia, the light cavalry is a good option to have and are good for use as a fast-moving units. However, Bohemia also has access to Feudal Knights are a cavalry unit that is pretty heavily armored
2) Men-At-Arms.
In game description: men with guns are an advanced version of the Swordsman. They are well armed and have good quality swords.
Requires shop chain mail and a swordsmith.
My thoughts: These are your main infantry fighting wise when you can buy. However, later outshined by the Teutonic Knights.
Local units of the provinces of departure:
Peasant 1).
In the game description: The peasants are the cheapest and weakest of the unit. Usually armed with pitchforks and do not wear armor. Who walk in bunches not, training, and have the most basic of all morality.
No other requirements that the initial cost.
My thoughts: Use these only when you are desperate or when you are starting out.
Archers 2).
In the description of play: goalkeepers are the unit were more basic. Its price, offsetting its My thoughts: This is the best unit for Bohemia, in terms of which have the ability to distance. However, it also can hire Bohemia Slavic Olomour Archers are cheap. So gradually to be able to field archers.
3) Lancers.
In game description: Lancers are the most typical defense units equipped with spears. They have a good charge and can be very dangerous for the enemies mounted.
Requires a spear maker.
My thoughts: Use these to deal with the cavalry, so if your enemy has a lot of cavalry (hopefully not changed / cavalry skirmishes), you’ll want to have very few units of them to meet what the enemy is pulling you. Also deserve to be used in close combat even when you’re out of options but are far from great.
4) Slavic loggers.
In game description: Slavic loggers are one of the melee units simpler. They use nothing but a rusty ax.
Requires a blacksmith ax.
My thoughts: They are cheap and, as such, are only ideal when you do not have the gold to spend on other units that are better.
5) Slavic archers.
In game description: Slavic Archers are one of the simplest units remotely. Just use a simple arc.
Requires Fletcher.
My thoughts: You can even afford to field archers with ease, using this unit to support your cavalry and infantry to fire remotely.
Local special units in the provinces of departure:
Feudal Knights 1).
In the description of game: a typical feudal knights are heavy cavalry unit originating in Western Europe. They have an outstanding plate armor and are armed with spears. A charge is a great feature for them, but sometimes they do tend to take for themselves.
Requires a dealer plate, mastersmithy swords, horses and a barn.
My thoughts: These are the best mounted unit for use, but expensive.
2) the Teutonic Knights.
In game description: Teutonic Knights, are among the best fighters of the sword. They are also equipped with perfect plate armor that provides exceptional protection. They are, however, slower due to the weight of the armor.
Requires a church, a gunsmith and a sword mastersmithy plate. Also needed is the Catholic religion.
My thoughts are the best infantry unit, but very expensive. You should also try to increase slowly with one or two infantry units quickly, so, perhaps.
